It has begun.

Downtown Cincinnati is getting ready for one of its' funnest weekends, Oktoberfest Zinzinnati! They've started putting up the Kentucky Ale tent at P&G Gardens...

And they've started constructing the Moerlein Beer Garden and Glockenspiel...

It's so exciting. And we can't wait for another Oktoberfest Zinzinnati to get started. :)

When we got back into Cincinnati, we thought they'd be further along on the new parking garage across Seventh Street from us...

You know, pretty close to almost being done and what not. Of course, we're kidding. Well... Kind of. But they did manage to scoop up that rather sizable dirt ramp and put down a concrete foundation for whatever it is that they're actually trying to accomplish over at what was once Lytle Park...



Miss a little. I guess you just miss a little. :)

They're making progress on phase two of Newport on the Levee across the river...

The amount of new stuff being built around downtown and Northern Kentucky is kind of staggering. Construction is the sign of progress and bigger, better things. :)

And the funny thing is, our building just had it's windows washed. :/

They've begun working on the new parking garage that will be built on Sycamore Street between Seventh and Eighth Streets. Maybe not so much working, more moving a whole bunch of dirt around...



And moving dirt around seems to be a popular theme in our little corner of downtown. :)

They just keep moving that big dirt ramp from one side of the hole to the other side of the hole down at Lytle Park. Other than that, I'm not sure they're making a lot of progress...

They're still digging their way to China in our beloved Lytle Park...




I didn't realize there was that much earth between Lytle Park and Lytle Tunnel which runs directly underneath the park. It's already been very interesting to watch this project progress. I just hope someday they return Lytle Park to it's former beauty. :(

The Ohio Department of Transportation has begun tearing up our beloved Lytle Park as part of a two-year long construction project to repair and update the ailing Lytle Tunnel that happens to run under the park...



All the trees in the east end of the park are now gone...

Construction on Lytle Tunnel is supposed to be completed by late 2017. Who knows when Lytle Park will be returned to the gorgeous park it once was. :/

The old American Red Cross Building is almost completely gone...

We we out of town for just a few days. And while we were gone, they finally started tearing down the old American Red Cross Building at the corner of Sycamore and Eighth Streets to make way for a new 7-story parking garage with street-level retail space...


I grabbed a couple more photos on the walk home from work...
