So according to folklore, no shadow for Phil means “there will be an early spring.” If Phil
had seen his shadow, we would be in for six more weeks of winter. It's always all so very
confusing to me, which is why I consult always this chart...
No word on whether the Family of Groundhogs under the Fort Washington Way Overpass
here downtown saw their shadows or not. I can't imagine they did. It was pretty overcast.
Groundhog Day is a kind of silly holiday. But bring on the baseball! :)
