Pause for paws.

Oscar
We got a big new dog bed for Milan. And Oscar seems to have laid claim to it already.

Tom+Chee.

We went to lunch at Tom+Chee for some grilled cheeses goodness. We got a bunch of stuff.
Tom+Chee
Genifer ordered a Swiss+Shroom Chee. And I ordered a Hot+Spicy Chee...
Tom+Chee
And of course, I had to order a BBQ+Bacon Chee on a glazed donut...
Tom+Chee
And it's nice to see they had a sense of humor about the world not ending...

Downtown details.

Gilbert Avenue
Gilbert Avenue as seen from Fido Field dog park. I just love the yellow glow of the street
lights contrasting with the deep blue of the evening sky.

O Christmas Tree.

Happy National Hamburger Day.

Today is National Hamburger Day. So I went to Local's and got a Local's Burger...
Local's Sports Bar and Grill
Happy National Cheeseburger Day! I'm eating mine @LocalsBarGrill. #Yum
But I messed it all up because I accidentally got a cheeseburger. Doh! Oh well. :)

We got a dusting of snow this morning.

Quan Hapa.

Tonight, we walked up to the Gateway Quarter in OtR to check out the soft opening
of a new little Asian gastropub called Quan Hapa. It's owned by the same guys that
blessed Cincinnati with the deliciousness that is Pho Lang Thang at Findlay Market.
Ironically, Quan Hapa is just across the street from Kaze, the other new OtR Asian joint.
Quan Hapa
To say that the place is not big would be an understatement. We made sure to get
there early to get a seat at the bar. The rest of the seating was family style...

The place was starting to fill up pretty quick...
Quan Hapa
We ordered a couple of of their steamed bun sliders...
Quan Hapa
We ordered the Hapa Sliders...
Quan Hapa
Pulled pork with yuzu+blood orange marmalade, pickled onions and fried egg.
And we ordered the Spider Sliders...
Quan Hapa
Soft shell crab with miso aioli, picked onions and wakame. And why yes, our sliders do
seem to have legs. There was a whole crab split between the two sliders, legs and all.
Quan Hapa
Both sliders were absolutely delicious. Amazing flavors.
Quan Hapa
And after eating our sliders, we were stuffed. We were hoping to their Okonomiyaki,
or Japanese pancakes served with Japanese mayo, bacon and egg but it wasn't going
to happen on this trip. But now we have something to look forward for next time.
Quan Hapa
Quan Hapa is yet another wonderful addition to the Gateway Quarter in OtR.

Kaze OTR.

We went to check out a new spot that just opened last weekend up in Over-the-Rhine
called Kaze (kah-zay) tonight. It's a Japanese sushi house which will officially open
with their full menu on January 14th. But their bar is open and it's spectacular...

Our friend, Denny showed us around the rest of the space. We crossed over this little
bridge in the hallway into the main dining room which will seat about 100 people...
