Cocktails & Crown Jewels.

Genifer heard about Cocktails & Crown Jewels presented by Cincinnati Parks and Moerlein Lager House down at the Schmidlapp Event Lawn & Stage. There were five Cocktails and Crown Jewels scheduled throughout the summer. They promised a cool jazz vibe all summer with the hottest jazz in the beauty of Smale Riverfront Park on the banks of the Ohio. Unfortunately, tonight's last one of the season...


It's really, really hard not to take photos of the Roebling Suspension Bridge whenever you're on the event lawn or in Smale Riverfront Park...






We got a couple of Moerlein's Helles from the Lager House To-Go walk-up window, and settled in for some great music from The Sound Body Jazz Orchestra...





Sound Body Jazz Orchestra has such an amazing big band sound. Loved it.

Our first bike ride.

Tonight, we went on our first bike ride together with Genifer's new bike. We rode along
the Ohio River down to Friendship Park and passed the Castle of Air...

And turned circled around the Crystalline Tower...

And rode back by the boathouse...

Through Sawyer Point and Yeatman's Cove...

Passed the swings at Smale Riverfront Park...

The Roebling Suspension Bridge...

And Paul Brown Stadium...


I worked on that banner while I was at Fifth Third...

It was really fun to get out and ride bikes again! According to my Runkeeper, we rode about
5.5 miles in a little under an hour. We're already starting to plan new rides and adventures
on our bikes. :)

Smale Riverfront Park.

After wandering through Goettafest, we stopped by Smale Riverfront Park to listen to a
free concert by local country music legend, Bobby Mackey...


There was a wedding party taking photos...

He belted out a bunch of great country hits including a lot of Johnny Cash. :)

There was a dog having all sorts of fun playing in the fountains of Smale Riverfront Park...

Just a Smale Saturday.

This afternoon we walked down to Smale Riverfront Park in The Banks to listen to some
Ooh La La and the Greasers oldies and enjoy this beautiful Saturday afternoon...



Just like Fountain Square or Washington Park or Sawyer Point, Smale Riverfront Park
has a bunch of events planned for this summer.




After listening to the band for a while, hanging out in the park and soaking up some sun,
we went inside Moerlein Lager House for a Moerlein Jean Ro 20th Anniversary Hefeweizen,
celebrating famed Cincinnati Chef Jean-Robert de Cavel's 20th anniversary in Cincinnati.


Great beer! Genifer had the BBQ chicken flatbread for lunch...

And I had the BBQ burger...

Delicious stuff. As always. :) Aferwards, we watched the USMNT World Cup warm-up
friendly match against Nigeria, and then just had pretty relaxing Saturday evening. :)
