Krueger's Tavern.

Tonight after work, we walked up Vine Street to check out the latest addition to The Gateway Quarter, Kreuger's Tavern. It gets its name from Kreuger's Brewing. The New Jersey brewery that was the first to sell beer in cans all the way back in 1935. Kreuger's Tavern is the latest project from Thunderdome Restaurant Group, who also own OtR darling's, Bakersfield and The Eagle Beer and Food Hall.





We thought the framed moss on the walls was really pretty cool...




You won't find any draft beers here. Kreuger's thing is canned beer. In fact, they have 88 different cans of beers in all varieties on the menu...

Genifer got Kreuger's signature drink, a gin & tonic. I just got a Miller Lite. It tastes great and it's less filling...

Speaking of tasting great, that was the best gin & juice I've ever tasted. Soooo smooth. Genifer spied beer cheese in the Snacks section of Kreuger's menu...

BAM!



Oh man. I could literally eat that beer cheese EVERY single day. It was amaaazing!

Genifer ordered the house-made Lincolnshire Sausage on mashed potatoes...

It was delicious! And I ordered Kreuger's Burger. Our server described the burger as a Big Mac on steroids. It was incredible!



Genifer ordered a Western Row beer cocktail...

Who would have that bourbon and beer would have been so tasty together? We knew Kreuger's was going to be terrific just based off of how good Bakersfield and The Eagle are. But we had no idea of just how incredible it would be. We can't wait to get back to Kreugers very, very soon. And you should too before there's a three-hour wait on a Saturday night like there is at Bakersfield and The Eagle. :)

A Saturday afternoon in OtR.

It was a rainy overcast Saturday in downtown Cincinnati. But a little rain didn't stop us from venturing up into Over-the-Rhine this afternoon. It seems like every time we head into OtR there's either already raining or there's a really good chance of a storm. We started our afternoon by stopping into Krueger's Tavern for lunch...

Because it was burger time. See? Burger time!



We started with Krueger's amazing beer cheese...

What time is it? Burger time! We got the spicy burger...

And boy was it spicy! That Habenaro slaw on the burger was no joke. But it was really delicious! Just as soon as you got used to the heat. After our mouths cooled off, we headed up Vine Street and stopped in Homage...


Checked out the relatively new Sundry and Vice on 13th Street...






Dr. Shiloh's System Vitalizer is one incredible cocktail!

And then onto a very rainy Washington Park for the first City Flea of the season...







Before we headed on to Taft's Ale House...

I had the Maverick Chocolate Porter and Genifer had the Saison de Paulus...

Taft's makes some pretty amazingly awesome beers...


Even dodging a few raindrops, it was another pretty amazing afternoon up in OtR. :)

Dinner before Frankie Valli at Music Hall.

We walked through yet another of this week's Cincinnati monsoon season torrential downpours to make our way up to the Gateway Quarter to have dinner at Krueger's Tavern before heading over to Cincinnati Music Hall to see the one and only Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons live and in concert...




Incredible pre-show dinner. :)
